OCE built their first silage compactor over 10 years ago and have gained invaluable experience in developing the machine to optimise silage quality.
As the layers are added to the silo, the compactor is continuously rolled over the material and the weight of the compactor (up to 4500kg) concentrated on 15mm wide discs immensely compresses the material, this process pushes out trapped air aiding fermentation and reducing spoiled feed.
The OCE compactor can also be used in the raised position and act as a heavy counter weight when working with the OCE tipping fork, particularly important when using the larger 16ft wide I480 tipping fork when all the power that can be put to the ground is needed.
